Who we are

About CarStash

CarStash is a UK search service for people who need somewhere safe to keep a car. You tell us where you are and how far you're prepared to drive; we show you the storage operators that are actually within that drive and go and get you a price.

Why we exist

Car storage is a fragmented market. Some of the best sites in the country are family businesses with one page and a phone number, and they are almost impossible to find next to the national self-storage chains. Meanwhile the aggregator sites measure distance in a straight line, which is meaningless the moment there's a river, a motorway junction or a national park between you and the unit.

So we built the search we wanted: real road routing, real businesses, and a human doing the ringing round afterwards.

How we make money

We are paid by the storage operators, not by you. We agree a wholesale rate with an operator because we bring them steady, qualified demand, and we quote you a price that includes our margin. You never pay CarStash a fee, and the price we quote you is the price you pay.

We think that's the honest way to run it, so we say it out loud rather than burying it in the terms.

Where our listings come from

Every operator on CarStash is a trading UK business. Details — address, postcode, facilities, contact — are taken from the operator's own website and geocoded against Royal Mail postcode data. We don't invent listings, we don't pad the map, and if a site closes we take it off. If you spot something wrong, tell us and we'll fix it.

Reviews

We don't publish star ratings or testimonials yet, because we'd rather show you nothing than show you reviews we can't stand behind. What you see on an operator card is what that operator says about its own facility, and we'll tell you which claims we've confirmed when we come back with your quote.
